DATE: 2011-07-17

BREWERY: Shorts Brewery
BRAND(S):
LOCATION: Bellaire, Michigan
COORD: N 44°58'35.92" W 86°35'40.39"
INFORMATION: An interesting little pub, in a tiny little town. Set in an older building, there is not a lot of room, nor a lot of food. Lots of beer though!!! While the food is great, you need to be a hophead to enjoy these beers¡ One to add on the list of places worth visiting!

PIC18 - Greenbush Brewing

FROM: Steve
DATE: 2011-07-17

BREWERY: Greenbush Brewing
BRAND(S): Heck if I remember the names…
LOCATION: Sawyer, Michigan
COORD: N 41°53'08.02" W 86°35'40.39"
INFORMATION: A brand new brewery (only open since June 1, 2011) with a brewmaster who has only been brewing for 3 years. But don’t let that stop you from hitting this little hidden gem!! Fantastic brews, with a strong Belgian slant. Unlike many Belgian beers, these beers are not overwhelmed with spices. Great taste, and high alcohol content! This brewery is a keeper for sure!! No food, just beer so either make sure you have something in your stomach, or go next door to the restaurant and then go drink more beer!!

PIC17 - Flossmor Station

FROM: Steve
DATE: 2011-07-17

BREWERY: Flossmor Station
BRAND(S): Station Master Wheat, Some kind of Amber, a very strong (15% abv) Belgian Trippel, Ironhorse Stout, and Ironman Nut Brown Ale
LOCATION: Flossmor, Illinois
COORD: N 41°42'35.90" W 87°32'34.26"
INFORMATION: While voted one of the best brewpubs in America back in 2006, the beer has not quite kept up with the times. Decent and certainly drinkable, but not what I would call the best by any stretch of the imagination. The food is very good, typically American pub fare with portions sizes that are just too large…A wonderful chipotle corn chowder and a BLT hit the spot!!

PIC16 - Weihenstephan

DATE: 2010-11-14

BREWERY: Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan
BRAND(S): Dunkel (and a lot of other good ones).
LOCATION: Freising, Germany
COORD: N 48°23’40.79” E 11°43’43.69”
INFORMATION: Possibly the oldest operating brewery in the world. Make sure you do the downstairs restaurant as the food is fantastic!! Feels like you’re sitting in an old abbey because you are!!
