In the GeoCubing (GC) section there are several ways to get Cube Points (Q's):
(1) Provide a GC Pic--no matter if search or non-search--that is awarded as 'Best of 20', 'Best of 100', 'Best of the Year', etc. you will receive one or more Q's.
(2) Be the first to reply in the corresponding thread of a GC SEARCH pic with the correct location of the Cube(s), you will receive one Q.
(3) Be the first to reply in the corresponding thread of a GC COORD pic with the correct location of the camera position in terms of GPS coordinates, you will receive one Q.
(4) Be the first to have a GC pic made in a certain Nation.
(5) Be the first to have a GC pic made in a Nation's Capital.
The affirmation for correct solutions are posted by the GC Administration in the corresponding threads. This may take some hours or even days. If you describe a wrong location, there will not necessarily be an according hint from the GC Admin, but there might be one. Finally if you enter a wrong location, of course you will not loose Q's.
If you plan to add your own pictures please incorporate the according data (see existing GC pics) into your pic. Your pic should contain at least one authentic CI-CUBE! Please do not provide fakes or photo compositions (except for the data)! See My CI-CUBE on how to provide pics.
Primarily provide a pic of size 800 (width) x 600 (height). Do not try to incorporate the GC watermark!
Your GC pic can be either
- a GC SEARCH Pic in which one or more Cubes must be found,
- a GC COORD Pic in which the camera position must be determined or
- a GC Pic without any search options.
Please incorporate directly in the pic:
- a Title describing the pic,
- your User ID,
- the Cube License Number,
- the Location in terms of the Country and if possible the City or Region,
- the Location in terms of GPS coordinates (roughly in case of GC COORD) and
- the Date when the pic was taken.
If you provide a GC SEARCH pic pls send a second picture that shows the Cube(s) clearly. This 'solution pic' should be a section of the original and unscaled image with size 320 x 240 pixels. Don't make the pics too easy nor too hard!
If you provide a GC COORD pic pls send separately the precise GPS coordinates from where this picture was made. The pic itself should contain rough coordinates to have some destination area for the search (see above). For instance if the original GPS coordinates are given as Deg Min Sec you could replace the Sec values by 0.0. It should be possible--by using Google Earth for instance--to determine the correct camera position.
For each GC SEARCH/COORD pic a separate thread will be created in the Board. Also if the right answer was posted, a corresponding confirmation posting will be made (maybe with some time-delay). Note, both thread creation and confirmation posting are done by the GC Administration!
